With so much of the intense, lame duck Congressional action taking place out in the halls, and with the President’s tax deal leaving DADT, the Dream Act and START to slowly twist in the wind, Stephen Crowley of the NYT bagged this photo, a portrait of institutional hypocricy. Given the lighting, it almost looks like the Hispanic maintenance guy is part of a profoundly ironic exhibit or display. The caption says it all about conservative stonewalling and white chauvinism:

(photo: Stephen Crowley for the New York Times. caption: Senatory Orrin G. Hatch, Republican of Utah, talked to reporters on Capitol Hill. Mr. Hatch, who was one of the first sponsors of the Dream Act bill, early in the decade, has said that he will not support the Dream Act unless it includes measures to secure borders. The bill would grant legal status to hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrant students.)
