Your Turn: The Problem We All Live With

Pete Souza/White House

With the Bag about to come back from being off the grid for a few days, we’re leaving the analysis in the surest hands we know. Yours.

Here’s the caption to this photo that appeared as a White House “Photo of the Day” a few weeks ago (I strongly recommend you click for full size):

President Barack Obama, Ruby Bridges, and representatives of the Norman Rockwell Museum view Rockwell’s “The Problem We All Live With,” hanging in a West Wing hallway near the Oval Office, July 15, 2011. Bridges is the girl portrayed in the painting.

I’m not only interested in your thoughts on the photo, but also the way Obama has handled the issue of race and his own black identity (which I feel I see constant evidence of in photos, through moments like this and snaps of events he hosts, but I don’t see or hear much of directly).
