Gaza Press Center: State Media-on-Media Violence

NewImage

This juxtaposition from yesterday contrasts a photo taken outside the Gaza Media Center during its bombing and the video of the attack from the Israeli Air Force.  You can niggle over the fact different parts of the building were hit at different times. (The IDF would add: “carefully.”)   That the Gaza Media Center was used by international media and/or journalists partial to Hamas, however, and journalists either ended up in the hospital or send running in the streets is an unacceptable threat to the press.

In this case, what we see at the same time, Mr. Orwell, is an act of media intimidation wrapped in a propagandistic rationalization of that action by way of state military acting as its own media.
