White House Syria Crisis: Kerry/Hitler vs. Rumsfeld/Hussein

I’m sure this photo of Kerry and Assad drudged up by Drudge is going to get plenty of attention — along with the resuscitation of how many Kerry French jokes and Kerry Assad-Hitler citations. The image was taken in ’09 before Syria imploded and during a stretch in which the Assads were enjoying peak Western circulation.

Of course, I’d be surprised if the former doesn’t evoke plenty of sighting of the shot below — not to mention, how the U.S. support of Iraq during its war with Iran involved rhetorical, though no practical opposition to Hussein’s use of chemical weapons.
