Mashup of the Day: Hands Up, Don’t Shoot

Maybe it’s relevant for drawing together the two biggest visual stories in the news stream right now — both involving blacks at risk.

Maybe it’s significant for the fact that the gesture from Ferguson is actually embedding itself into the American psyche.

Maybe it’s a reflection of Ebola-mania and the way the American news consumer (here, via Reuters’ exaggeratedly named “Ebola global spread” slideshow) is being shot full of fear over the idea such a disease could somehow overwhelm the U.S.
