Tensions On The Rise As Arizona Immigration Law Deadline Nears

NOGALES, MEXICO – JULY 27: Recently-deported Mexican immigrant Jose Manuel, 42, shows off his jacket outside an aid station July 27, 2010 in Nogales, Mexico, just across the border from Arizona. He said that he had lived in San Mateo, California for 10 years as an undocumented construction worker when he was arrested by U.S. immigration officials and deported back to Mexico. Despite fears surrounding Arizona’s new immigration law SB 1070, which goes into effect Thursday, many deported immigrants say they will again try to enter the United States illegally, most looking for work to support their families.
