Convention Coverage: The First Night of the RNC 2008 Springboard Competition

Unless President Bush manages to change the constitution by executive order (or swing another deal with the Supreme Court), he is not going to be the Republican nominee in 2008. As a result, a central function of the Republican Convention this year is to provide a springboard for the next party leader. With this in mind, our coverage this week focuses on the competition to see who can makes the best jump to become new champion of the free world.

Interestingly, this first night of action provides the convention’s best head-to-head match up, pitting Rudi Giuliani against John McCain.

We will be posting scores and recaps of the individual performances in the order in which they occur.
