The audacious scale here is an incredible commentary on how McCain’s captivity has been inflated to obscene proportions. 

And then, there’s the ongoing ambiguity of what the image is supposed to actually represent.  As Wes Clark said: “I don’t think getting in a fighter plane and getting shot down is a qualification to become president.”
