Yesterday was the first meeting between GOP honchos and Obama at the White House in six months. (Remember McCain’s last?)
According to Politico, Mac did his best to get under the President’s skin over the war strategy. Unfortunately, there are no images I could find of the fireworks inside. But then, given this shot of Maverick leaning back and appreciating the view (along with this pic, greeting Pelosi upon entrance, also telegraphing John’s frame of mind), who needs more?
By the way, notice the reference to “raging” in this novella of a caption.

Obama Tuesday sat down with senior lawmakers driving a raging debate on US Afghan strategy, as he works towards a decision on whether to send thousands more troops to war. Democratic and Republican leaders plus top members of key congressional committees met the president at the White House touting sharply conflicting visions of the next steps in the unpopular eight-year US military operation.
