Burning Issues in California: All in One Frame

Burning Issues in California- All in One Frame

It’s one of the more simple and eloquent newswire photos I’ve seen in a while the way it juxtaposes two very large but visually separate politically-charged issues and pulls in many more. In the picture, we see the edge of the 100 acre Camarillo wildfire in Ventura County in the background of what I assume are immigration reform-hopeful farm workers. I do imagine, though, the photo is foretelling of more such compositions  as resource issues touching environment, land, labor, food and water, and municipal services only impinge more on each other.

Is that cilantro they’re picking, by the way?
