Have a Little God with your Tea

John Louden

Crosses and flags. God and November.

What’s the significance of this wire photo from Missouri?  Well, it’s the first wire photo I’ve seen of a Tea Party rally integrated with (or, maybe co-opted by) Christian Conservatives.

But then, if the Religious Right does assert itself into the “movement,” does it make for stronger Tea or weaker Tea? And, does this it spell the fall of the “secular right,” or, is there even such thing?

(caption: Former Missouri state Senator John Louden rallies the crowd at Leo O’Laughlin Inc. on the eve of President Barack Obama’s visit to Macon, Mo. Tuesday evening, April 27, 2010. The Missouri Republican Party and a tea party group called the Macon County Patriots planned the protest Tuesday evening down the road from Poet Biorefining in Macon, with other groups also taking part.)
