Winner … and Still Champion!

What’s most notable is not that New York Magazine’s September 28, 2009 Obama “HATE” cover was awarded first place in the “Most Controversial” category of the American Society of Magazine Editors “Magazine Covers of the Year” award. It’s the fact that the cover, which appeared almost a year ago to the day, is that much more applicable now.  (Case in point, the left ear.)

(Interesting to note, by the way, that among the six finalists, Obama was competing against himself twice, as well as against Sacha Baron Cohen, Antonio Villaraigosa and Tiger Woods. …Yeah, 1 white guy.)

ASME Winners.  ASME Category finalists.
