Our “Trump Writes” Tweet Thread

Writing my inaugural address at the Winter White House, Mar-a-Lago, three weeks ago. Looking forward to Friday.

Apparently, Donald Trump has got a better flair for Twitter than he does for Instagram. Odd in itself (because of his famously-short attention span), his team posted a three-week-old photo from his Florida resort in which he’s supposedly working on his inauguration speech. The photo was laughable for a number of reasons. Trump’s photo ops are painfully stage-y. He’s hardly known as a writer. (I’ve haven’t seen anything he’s written that wasn’t in bullet points, and wasn’t written with a Sharpee.) Also, as you can see from the tweet at the bottom of the post, the internets discovered the photo was taken at a cleared-off concierge desk in a lobby. What’s most odd about the photo, though, is that Trump never looks this passive. Trump’s armor is his swagger. Without it, it’s open season.

Here’s how we deconstructed it on Twitter:
